Advocates for Hope

Treatment Approach

Our Unique Treatment Approach

Pate Rehabilitation has been treating individuals with various types of acquired brain injuries (ABI) since the early 1980s. Initially treating patients in a quiet, clinic setting proved effective and patients improved significantly. Upon returning to work and home environments, however, the patients quickly regressed.  Learning from these outcomes early on, Pate now applies a holistic approach to ABI rehabilitation, gradually increasing the complexity of the environment to mimic an individual’s eventual real-world experiences.

At Pate, we deliver one-on-one occupational, physical, and speech therapies and repeated cognitive testing that maximizes functioning for long-term results. Our unique treatment model, based on functional, individualized, and evidence-based therapies, offers each patient an exceptional chance to once again become an active, integrated, and vital member of society.

Bridging the Gap from Hospital to Home

The rehabilitation process begins by thoroughly getting to know our patients, learning as much as possible about them as members of their family, community, and workforce. With a deeper understanding of the complete person, we are better equipped to help our patients meet their goals and objectives, whether it’s related to work, community mobility, or independent living. Our success is built on a foundation of:

·
Real-world simulation,
            ·
Individualized therapies, and
            ·
Results-oriented programs.

Our experienced therapists and ideal healing environment create a synergy that facilitates a consistent level of care for optimal outcomes. We have assembled diverse clinical teams – including 10 neuropsychologists – that represent many clinical backgrounds and work together to support each patient’s individualized rehabilitation.

30 Years of Experience; Thousands of Results

The level of distraction and amount of structure presented in each patient’s environment are core elements of our treatment approach. We have created a unique assessment system called PERPOS (Pate Environmentally Relevant Program Outcome System) that accurately and precisely measures an individual’s distraction and structure tolerance, allowing us to customize a treatment plan based on the patient’s areas of need. As treatment progresses, we track an individual’s advancement using PERPOS standards, and continuously mold and specialize his/her treatment plan for the best success in real world environments.

Pate is also a change agent in the rehabilitation world. Utilizing a treasure trove of results-oriented data, we are shaping brain injury rehabilitation’s future so that all persons affected by acquired brain injury will achieve the best possible outcomes.

For those dealing with brain injury, Pate offers something more than treatment

For our patients, it’s a personal program — and a
comfortable place that encourages progress. For the doctors and other specialists who refer their patients to Pate, it’s a trusted resource that can help increase independence. And for the families of the husbands and wives, sons and daughters, parents and children we serve, Pate can mean more options, better solutions — and real results.

At Pate, we describe ourselves as "tireless advocates" for our clients

It means
we work hard to ensure the best outcome for each individual. We
strive for success at every level — and celebrate each milestone. We see rehabilitation as a starting point, not a last resort. And even when the clinical prognosis appears less than hopeful, the people at Pate are advocates for hope. After all, we know our patients can succeed. But we also believe they have the potential to surprise — whether it’s
their treatment team, their family, or most importantly, themselves.
