Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Savanna Oaks Ranch

On September 20, 2012, we held the ribbon-cutting ceremony in celebration of our new residential facility in Fort Worth. This facility will serve patients transitioning from acute care in area hospitals to post-acute residential rehabilitation. Kent Hayden, president of Pate Rehabilitation, said “Individuals with acquired brain injuries and their families face unique and, typically, long-term challenges. It’s critical that programs and services supporting their recovery are easily reachable. With facilities in Dallas, Anna and Fort Worth, we can now provide comprehensive therapy services to patients throughout the local area.” In the coming years we will build a treatment facility complete with a therapy pool featuring underwater treadmills, jets to speed recovery and cameras to track gait analysis.

Savanna Oaks Ranch sits atop a hill in a beautifully wooded area away from city highway noise. The new facility is 13,000 square feet and features 16 private patient suites, beautifully and comfortably appointed, in peaceful and calming color schemes. Each suite has a telephone, refrigerator, wireless internet, satellite television, and a private sitting area with a full-size sleeper sofa for overnight family visits. The suites also feature individually controlled heating/cooling units. Eight of the suites have doors leading onto the back patio area.

We are incredibly proud of our new location. With that said, we don’t want to lose sight of what we are doing and why. As Kent said, patients with brain injuries, and their families, face life-long challenges. Post-acute brain injury rehabilitation is part of the continuum of care that helps patients return to their highest level of independence. It is an awesome and humbling experience to be part of patients’ lives as they regain their physical and cognitive abilities, and as they become more and more empowered to face life’s new challenges.
