Kent Hayden, president of Pate Rehabilitation, has helped direct Pate’s transformation over the past two decades, and we are delighted to honor him for his service. Kent is a caring, compassionate leader who balances quality programming and management with strong business practices. He has a passion for helping patients with brain injuries and is a true advocate for quality care. A champion for survivors, Kent’s 20 years of leadership is an asset not only to Pate, but to the entire field of brain injury rehabilitation. Kent is active in the Brain Injury Association of America, supporting advocacy efforts, education and research in Texas and across the country.
Prior to joining Pate, Kent worked as a liability insurance adjuster for seven years, gaining valuable finance experience. He joined the relatively small Pate team based at the Greenery in Dallas in August 1991 as administrative director. He managed the company’s billing and financials and pitched in wherever and whenever he was needed—moving desks, finding jobs for patients, and running the transportation program. Kent is not only a leader, but a team player—no job is ever too big or too small.
Kent became vice president of Pate in 1995. By this time, the organization had grown significantly and had moved to its 10,000-square-foot Villa Creek location in Dallas. Pate continued to flourish, and the new space quickly became too small. Within a few months, Pate doubled the size of its facility to accommodate this growth.
In 2001, Kent became president of Pate. Under Kent’s strategic direction, Pate has continued to expand and now has 260 employees spread across three locations within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
“It has been a tremendous privilege to have spent 20 years of my life surrounded by such an inspiring group of people,” says Kent. “At Pate, our efforts are a part of something bigger than ourselves, and we’re assured that what we’re doing is for the greater common good. Not many people are as lucky as we are to be able to help others in their greatest time of need.”
Kent, we salute you for all of your contributions—including our generous benefits package! You deeply value the contributions of all Pate employees, treating each of us with profound respect, and it is an honor and privilege to work alongside such a leader and mentor. Thank you for your service, and congratulations on your 20th anniversary with Pate!
