One of the ways Pate provides comfort and convenience to those in our programs is by offering free transportation services to and from treatment for outpatients.
We want the focus to be on recovery, not the logistical hassles that might come along with it.
During the initial visit with our clinical evaluator, we’ll ask you if Pate’s transportation services would be helpful, and if so, coordinate the arrangements. Service includes day neuro patients within a generous area.
Did you know that driving to treatment acts as rehab, too? Patients have to become re-acquainted with traveling in a car and withstanding trips of different times. Our transportation helps patients get used to car trips, an essential skill.
Our pick-ups begin at 6:45 a.m. with treatment starting by 9:00 a.m. and our drop-offs end at 5:45 p.m. with treatment ending at 3:30 p.m.
Depending on your home’s location, a Pate transportation van will arrive at a scheduled time, and wait at each patient’s home for up to 7 minutes. This allows us to fulfill our commitment to all patients by staying on schedule and arriving on time for treatment. For patients who live outside of our pick-up area, we will coordinate a time to meet you at a designated drop-off point.
Patients who have doctor’s appointments or require any changes to the transportation schedule should let their case manager know 72 hours in advance so we can coordinate the changes with our transportation team. Pate transportation services can accommodate medical appointments between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Pate staff enjoys taking patients on outings around the community, and our transportation team is able to assist with these special events whenever our treatment teams need them. They are known for their friendliness!
Our drivers are terrific and highly qualified. They are trained in CPR, First Aid, and take a class in CPI (crisis prevention) which we require of all direct care workers. They must have a clean driving record and have both bus training and training in transfers. Our drivers consistently receive praise in our post-treatment surveys for their cheerful outlook, compassion and kindness.
